More Details on Our Top Picks
Ciorold Neck Pillow for Traveling, Travel Pillows for Airplanes, Black
The Ciorold Neck Pillow stands out for its adjustable sizing, which allows a personalized fit that can accommodate a variety of neck sizes better than the more fixed design of the BCOZZY Travel Neck Pillow. Its high-quality memory foam offers reliable comfort, but the foam’s inability to be washed limits long-term hygiene maintenance. Compared with other options, like the ExploreBliss Pillow, it may not offer as many travel accessories, but its compact, foldable form makes it ideal for minimalists who prioritize a customizable fit. The flat-back design helps keep your head upright, though it might not be comfortable for everyone with different sleeping preferences. This pillow suits travelers who want a tailored fit and don’t mind avoiding washing the foam itself.
Pros:- Adjustable size for a personalized fit
- Made of high-quality memory foam for comfort
- Compact and foldable for travel convenience
Cons:- Foam should not be washed or exposed to water
- May not fit all neck sizes perfectly
- Flat-back design may not suit all sleeping styles
Best for: Travelers seeking a customizable neck pillow that fits a wide range of neck sizes
Not ideal for: Those who prefer a pillow with a washable foam core or require a more plush, less adjustable option
- Material:Memory foam
- Color:Black
- Washable Cover:Yes
- Adjustable:Yes
- Included Accessories:Carrying bag
Our verdict“This pillow is best for travelers who want a customizable fit and compact design, but it’s less ideal if easy cleaning is a priority.”
WEERSHUN Travel Pillow for Airplanes, Memory Foam Neck Pillow with Chin Wrap
The WEERSHUN Travel Pillow excels at providing comprehensive support with its chin wrap, helping maintain an upright posture, which makes it a better choice than the BCOZZY for those who struggle to keep their head aligned during long flights. Its memory foam conforms well, but the initial odor after unpacking can be off-putting, and it may take time for the foam to fully rebound from vacuum packaging. Unlike the ExploreBliss pillow, it offers a waterproof storage bag, adding convenience. While the support is excellent, the limited color options and slight odor may be drawbacks for some. This pick makes the most sense for travelers prioritizing neck and shoulder support, especially if they prefer a pillow with a chin wrap feature.
Pros:- Provides excellent neck and shoulder support
- Chin wrap helps maintain upright posture
- Includes waterproof storage bag for convenience
- Anti-stick layer makes cleaning easier
Cons:- May have a slight odor initially
- Memory foam may take time to rebound after unpacking
Best for: Travelers who need extra neck and chin support to stay upright comfortably during long flights
Not ideal for: Those sensitive to initial odors or seeking a lightweight, minimalist pillow without additional features
- Brand:WEERSHUN
- Model Name:ZTLV002
- Number of Pieces:1
- Best Sellers Rank:#5,685 in Home & Kitchen, #18 in Travel Pillows
- ASIN:B0H8NDYZBP
Our verdict“Ideal for travelers needing enhanced support and chin stability, but less suitable if odor sensitivity or ultra-lightweight design are priorities.”
Saireider Travel Pillow 100% Memory Foam Neck Pillow with Washable Cover
The Saireider Travel Pillow offers comprehensive 360° support for neck, head, and chin, making it a solid choice for those who want a pillow that adapts to various sleeping positions better than the more specialized BCOZZY. Its memory foam is dense and supportive, but the lack of detailed size options and absence of cooling features may make it less comfortable for hot sleepers. The removable, washable cover simplifies maintenance, but the limited size information could make it harder to determine proper fit. This pillow is well-suited for travelers who value total neck and head support and don’t mind a slightly firmer feel.
Pros:- Provides full 360° neck and head support
- Removable, washable cover for easy cleaning
- Adjustable sizes for personalized comfort
Cons:- Limited detail on size options
- No cooling features for hot sleepers
Best for: Travelers seeking all-around support and easy maintenance for long flights
Not ideal for: Hot sleepers or those needing very lightweight, highly portable pillows
- Material:100% Pure Memory Foam
- Cover:Washable, Removable
- Size:Three adjustable sizes
- Design:All-around support
- Zipper:Invisible
Our verdict“Best for travelers who want thorough support and easy upkeep, but may be less comfortable for hot or highly specific sleeping positions.”
BCOZZY Travel Neck Pillow for Airplane – Double Support, Adjustable, Washable, Large, Navy
The BCOZZY pillow is designed for those who want double support for their head, neck, and chin, making it more supportive than the ExploreBliss for long flights. Its ergonomic shape allows multiple sleeping positions, and the flat-back prevents head push forward. However, its bulky size may be a drawback for travelers seeking a lightweight, minimal pack. While it is washable and easy to care for, the limited color options and its size could make it less suitable for those with smaller or highly restrictive carry-on space. This pillow is best for frequent travelers who prioritize maximum support and versatility over packability.
Pros:- Double support for head, neck, and chin
- Ergonomic design with multiple sleeping positions
- Machine washable and durable
Cons:- May be too bulky for some travelers
- Requires washing for maintenance
Best for: Frequent flyers who need extra neck, chin, and head support during long flights
Not ideal for: Travelers preferring a compact, lightweight pillow or with limited carry-on space
- Size:Large, suitable for necks up to 16 inches
- Material:Breathable microfleece, microsuede shell, down alternative filling
- Washable:Yes
- Color:Navy
Our verdict“A top choice for those seeking maximum support and comfort, especially on long journeys, despite its larger size.”
ExploreBliss Travel Pillow, Memory Foam Neck Pillow for Airplane Travel, Grey
The ExploreBliss Travel Pillow combines comfort and convenience, offering a supportive memory foam design with a soft removable cover, making it a versatile choice for long flights. Its included accessories—a matching eye mask, noise-blocking earplugs, and a compact storage bag—add value for travelers who want to streamline their packing. Compared to the Saireider pillow, it may feel slightly softer, but the lack of cooling features and limited color options could be drawbacks for some. Its size makes it easy to carry, and the added accessories enhance overall travel comfort, especially for light packers. This pick is ideal for travelers seeking a complete support kit in a portable package.
Pros:- Comfortable memory foam support
- Removable, washable cover
- Includes eye mask and earplugs for better rest
- Compact, easy to carry with storage bag
Cons:- May be too firm for some users
- Limited color options
Best for: Travelers who want a well-rounded support pillow with travel accessories included
Not ideal for: Hot sleepers or those needing highly adjustable or specialized support
- Pillow Size:11.6″ x 10.2″ x 5.5″
- Material:Memory foam, magnetic therapy fabric
- Includes:Neck pillow, eye mask, earplugs, storage bag
Our verdict“Great for travelers who value convenience and a support kit, though less suitable for hot sleepers or those wanting custom support features.”
Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow, Bendable Neck Pillow for Airplane, Car and Home, 26-Inch Adjustable Roll with Washable Cotton Cover, Gray
The Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow stands out for its customizable support thanks to a flexible bendable design, making it ideal for travelers who want tailored comfort. Unlike the more rigid CloudBliss, this pillow can be shaped to fit various neck and head positions, offering a personalized fit. However, its support may feel less consistent for those preferring a firm, unchanging pillow. The memory foam cushions pressure points effectively, and the washable cotton cover makes maintenance straightforward. Its lightweight, attachable design adds to convenience for frequent travelers, but some may find the initial foam scent noticeable. This pick is best for travelers who want adjustable comfort and portability but are okay with some initial odor and variable support.
Pros:- Customizable support for various positions
- Memory foam cushions pressure points for comfort
- Washable cotton cover for easy cleaning
- Lightweight and attachable to luggage
Cons:- Scent of new foam may be noticeable initially
- Limited detailed information on durability
Best for: Travelers who prioritize customizable comfort and portability, especially those who like to shape their pillow to fit their position.
Not ideal for: Those seeking a firm, consistently supportive pillow without the need for adjustment, or travelers sensitive to foam scents.
- Material:Memory Foam
- Cover Material:Cotton
- Dimensions:26 inches (length) x 3.8 inches (diameter)
- Color:Gray
- Weight:Not specified
- Model Number:COMIN18JU033682
Our verdict“Best suited for travelers seeking adaptable, lightweight support that can be shaped to their liking.”
MLVOC Airplane Travel Neck Pillow with 3D Eye Mask & Earplugs Kit
The MLVOC Travel Neck Pillow is a comprehensive package that includes a memory foam pillow, a 3D contoured eye mask, and earplugs, making it ideal for long-haul flights where total sleep comfort matters. Compared to the more minimalist CloudBliss, this kit offers a full sleep support system that can help block out light and noise, though it may be bulkier for some carry-on restrictions. The memory foam retains shape well and offers durable comfort, but its size and compressibility might limit convenience for travelers with tight space constraints. The adjustable fit with a rope lock ensures a decent seal around the neck, but some users may find it too bulky for quick packing. This product makes the most sense for travelers who want a complete sleep setup in one pack, especially on long flights.
Pros:- Provides excellent neck support for long flights
- Includes complete sleep accessories (eye mask, earplugs)
- Memory foam retains shape and durability
- Washable cover for easy cleaning
Cons:- May be too bulky for some carry-on sizes
- Memory foam may retain heat during warm flights
Best for: Long-haul travelers who need a full support system, including eye mask and earplugs, for restful sleep.
Not ideal for: Travelers seeking a lightweight, minimal pillow without additional accessories or those with limited carry-on space.
- Material:Memory Foam
- Dimensions:11 x 9.2 x 4.6 inches
- Weight:0.6 lbs
- Includes:Neck pillow, eye mask, earplugs, carry bag
- Cover:Breathable, washable, sweat-resistant
Our verdict“Ideal for travelers who want an all-in-one sleep kit for maximum comfort on long journeys.”
CloudBliss Neck Pillow for Airplanes, Memory Foam Travel Pillow, Black
The CloudBliss Neck Pillow offers a classic ergonomic shape made of soft memory foam, designed to support your head and neck comfortably during long flights. Compared with the more adjustable Dot&Dot, this pillow relies on a fixed shape but provides consistent support for users who prefer simplicity. Its breathable cover enhances comfort, though some may find it less adjustable for varied neck sizes, especially without additional features like a bendable frame. The included accessories, such as an eye mask and earplugs, add value, but heat retention in memory foam can be a concern on warm flights. This pillow suits travelers who want straightforward, supportive comfort without fuss or customization.
Pros:- Supports neck and head comfortably with ergonomic design
- Breathable cover enhances comfort
- Includes eye mask and earplugs
- Space-saving and portable design
Cons:- May not fit all neck sizes without adjustment
- Memory foam may retain heat for some users
Best for: Travelers seeking reliable neck support with a simple, ergonomic design and minimal fuss.
Not ideal for: Those who prefer adjustable or bendable support to customize their fit or those sensitive to heat retention in memory foam.
- Material:Memory Foam
- Color:Black
- Dimensions:11 x 10 x 5.2 inches
- Includes:Eye mask, earplugs, storage pockets, travel bag
Our verdict“Best suited for travelers who want straightforward, reliable support without adjustable features.”
Everlasting Comfort Upgraded Neck Pillow for Airplanes
The Everlasting Comfort Upgraded Neck Pillow earns its spot for providing comprehensive support with an ergonomic, multi-position design that caters to both head and shoulder comfort. Unlike the more minimalist options, it offers adjustable support that can be tailored to different sleeping styles, making it better suited for those who need versatile support during long flights or car rides. Its breathable, washable cover adds convenience, but some users may find it softer and less firm than they prefer, especially if they favor a more rigid pillow. The bulky profile might also be a drawback for travelers with limited space. This pillow is best for travelers who want a highly supportive, adjustable pillow capable of reducing neck and shoulder strain.
Pros:- Provides comprehensive neck and shoulder support
- Adjustable multi-position design
- Breathable, washable cover
- Suitable for adults and kids
Cons:- May be too soft for those wanting firm support
- Could be bulky for small carry-on bags
Best for: Travelers who need versatile, ergonomic support for extended periods, especially those prone to neck or shoulder pain.
Not ideal for: Light sleepers who prefer a softer, less structured pillow or travelers with very limited carry-on capacity.
- Material:Memory Foam
- Cover:Breathable, Machine Washable
- Adjustability:Multiple Position Options
- Support:360° Neck Support
- Size:Suitable for Adults and Kids
- Features:Portable, Velcro Strap for Carrying
Our verdict“Ideal for travelers seeking adjustable, ergonomic support to prevent discomfort on long journeys.”
SkytraxComf® Travel Neck Pillow with Hood for Privacy on Long Flights
The SkytraxComf® Travel Neck Pillow is distinctive for its oversized hood, providing privacy and light blocking—perfect for travelers who want to create a personal space in cramped cabins. Its high-density memory foam offers reliable neck support, similar to the CloudBliss, but the large hood adds an extra layer of comfort and privacy. Adjustability with a drawstring and buckle helps customize support, though the size and bulk might make packing more challenging. The included earplugs and compact pouch add convenience, but the pillow’s bulk may be a drawback for those with limited overhead bin space. This product is best for travelers who value privacy and light blocking as part of their sleep environment.
Pros:- Large hood provides privacy and light blocking
- Adjustable chin and neck support
- Memory foam cushions neck and shoulders
- Removable, washable cover
Cons:- May require fluffing after compression
- Size may be bulky for some travelers
Best for: Long-distance travelers who prioritize privacy, light blocking, and personalized support in a bulky but feature-rich pillow.
Not ideal for: Travelers needing a compact, lightweight pillow or those who dislike large, bulky accessories.
- Hood:Oversized, privacy-enhancing
- Support:Adjustable chin and neck support with drawstring and buckle
- Material:High-density memory foam
- Cover:Removable, washable
- Includes:Earplugs, carrying pouch
Our verdict“Best suited for travelers who want privacy and support combined, accepting some bulk for added comfort.”
Napfun Neck Pillow for Traveling – Memory Foam Travel Pillow for Airplane, Car, Train, or Bus – Light Grey
This upgraded neck pillow stands out for its chin support and ability to relieve neck pain, making it a well-rounded choice for long flights. Unlike the more supportive Purroch G-Shape, the Napfun’s contouring memory foam molds to your neck, offering personalized comfort. However, it may take some time to fully adapt to your specific shape, and the memory foam can retain heat during extended use. Its lightweight design and included travel bag make it especially convenient for frequent travelers seeking a versatile, supportive pillow.
Pros:- Provides chin support and neck pain relief
- Contouring memory foam offers personalized comfort
- Lightweight and portable with travel bag
Cons:- May take time to adapt to individual neck shape
- Memory foam may retain heat during long use
Best for: Travelers who want customizable support and chin elevation during long flights
Not ideal for: Those who prefer instant comfort without a break-in period or who are sensitive to heat retention
- Material:Memory Foam
- Color:Light Grey
- Features:Chin support, portable, contouring
Our verdict“This pillow makes the most sense for travelers seeking adjustable support and chin elevation for long flights.”
Sarisun Travel Pillow for Airplanes with 360° Head Support
The Sarisun Travel Pillow is engineered for complete head support, making it ideal for upright sleeping on airplanes. Its 360° support design prevents head bobbing, and the integrated eye mask adds a layer of comfort. Compared to the more flexible FlyHugz, Sarisun’s firm structure offers more reliable support but may feel too rigid for users who prefer softer pillows. Its compact size and lightweight build make it perfect for those prioritizing stability over plush softness, though it’s primarily designed for seated positions.
Pros:- Provides 360° head support for comfortable sleep
- Lightweight and compact for travel
- Includes an integrated eye mask
Cons:- May feel firm for users preferring softer pillows
- Limited color options
Best for: Frequent flyers who need reliable, full head support during long flights

- Dimensions:4.7″×4.3″×6.2″
- Weight:Less than 0.5 lb
- Features:360° head support, integrated eye mask, ergonomic design, portable
Our verdict“This pick is best for those who need complete head stabilization during upright sleeping on flights.”
Purroch G-Shape Memory Foam Travel Pillow, Neck Pillow
The Purroch G-Shape offers excellent 360° support with its ergonomic design, making it a standout for those who prefer targeted neck and shoulder stability. Its high-density memory foam and breathable, skin-friendly fabric cover provide comfort, while the included eye mask and earplugs enhance rest quality. Compared with the more minimalist FlyHugz, the Purroch’s bulkier form might be less portable, and supportiveness can depend on individual preferences. It’s a solid choice for travelers who want comprehensive support and added accessories for longer trips.
Pros:- Provides full 360° neck and shoulder support
- Made with breathable, skin-friendly fabric
- Includes travel set with eye mask and earplugs
- Removable, washable cover
Cons:- May be bulkier than traditional U-shaped pillows
- Supportiveness varies based on user preference

- Material:High-density memory foam
- Design:G-shaped ergonomic
- Fabric:OEKO-TEX certified, breathable
Our verdict“Ideal for travelers who prioritize ergonomic support and comprehensive comfort features during long flights.”

Its breathable, washable cover helps keep cool during long hours, and its lightweight, compact design makes it easy to pack. Unlike the bulkier Purroch G-Shape, FlyHugz is more suited for travelers who value quick adaptability and minimal bulk, but some users might find it too firm or heat-retentive compared to softer options. It’s ideal for those looking for a simple, supportive travel pillow that fits easily into carry-ons.

- Adjustable Velcro strap fits all sizes
- Breathable, sweat-resistant fabric
- Lightweight and compact for travel

- Features:Breathable fabric, washable cover, adjustable Velcro
Our verdict“This pillow is best for travelers wanting a reliable, adjustable support with minimal bulk.”

The BUYUE travel pillow offers comprehensive 360° support, including chin, neck, and head, making it suitable for extended sitting periods. Its memory foam construction and breathable cover provide comfort, while the included sleep mask, earplugs, and storage bag add convenience for long-haul travelers. Compared with the more portable Sarisun, BUYUE’s larger size might restrict quick packing, and its weight makes it less ideal for those seeking ultralight options. This pillow makes the most sense for travelers who want full support and travel extras bundled in one package.
Pros:- Provides 360° head, neck, and chin support

How We Picked
Each travel pillow was evaluated based on support, comfort, portability, durability, and value. We prioritized models with high-quality materials like memory foam and adjustable features that cater to different sleep preferences. Ease of packing and maintenance also played a role, as long-haul travelers need convenience alongside comfort. The ranking reflects a balance between support and portability, ensuring that each option serves a specific traveler need while offering reliable performance for extended use.Factors to Consider When Choosing Travel Pillows For Long Flights
Choosing a travel pillow for long flights involves more than just comfort; it requires considering how the pillow fits your travel style, neck support needs, and space constraints. The right pillow can prevent neck strain and improve sleep quality, but the wrong choice can lead to discomfort and inconvenience. Here are key factors to help you make an informed decision.Support and Comfort
Look for pillows that offer firm yet cushioned support, especially if you tend to experience neck pain after flights. Memory foam options tend to conform better to your neck’s shape, providing lasting comfort. Avoid overly soft or flimsy pillows if you need substantial support for long periods, as they may not prevent neck strain.
Size and Portability
Travel pillows range from compact, inflatable models to larger, memory foam designs. Consider how much space you’re willing to sacrifice for comfort. Inflatable or foldable pillows are easier to pack, but may compromise support compared to solid memory foam options. Think about whether you want a pillow that can fit into your carry-on or one that doubles as a neck rest on the seat.
Adjustability and Fit
Adjustable features like straps, chin supports, or foldable designs help customize fit, which is vital for long flights. Proper fit prevents neck wobbling and keeps your head aligned, reducing fatigue. Beware of rigid, non-adjustable pillows if your head or neck size varies, or if you share the pillow with others.
Additional Features
Extras such as built-in eye masks, earplugs, or hoods can enhance rest, especially on bright or noisy flights. However, these features often add bulk or complexity. Decide whether these extras are worth the tradeoff for your comfort and packing space.
Durability and Maintenance
Look for easy-to-clean covers and durable materials that withstand frequent use. Memory foam pillows with washable covers tend to last longer and stay hygienic. Avoid low-quality materials that degrade quickly, forcing you to replace the pillow sooner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a memory foam travel pillow worth the extra cost?
Memory foam travel pillows often provide better neck support and conform to your shape, which can reduce discomfort during long flights. While they tend to be pricier than inflatable options, their durability and comfort can justify the investment, especially if you frequently fly long distances. However, if you prefer a lightweight, easily packable option, an inflatable pillow might suffice at a lower cost.
Should I choose an inflatable or a solid foam travel pillow?
Inflatable pillows excel in portability and storage, making them ideal for travelers with limited space or those who prefer to pack light. Solid foam pillows, especially memory foam, offer superior support and comfort for extended use but are bulkier. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize convenience or support for longer flights.
How important is adjustability in a travel pillow?
Adjustability enhances fit and comfort, which is especially beneficial during long flights when a perfect fit can prevent neck fatigue. Features like chin straps or foldable designs help customize support, making the pillow more versatile across different seat types and user preferences. Non-adjustable pillows may feel restrictive or less supportive if they don’t fit well.
Can travel pillows double as pillow for other travel modes?
Many travel pillows, especially memory foam or bendable models, work well for trains, cars, or overnight stays. Their support and shape retention make them versatile. Inflatable options are more portable but may lack the comfort needed for extended rest outside of flights. Consider your travel habits when choosing a multi-use design.
What features should I prioritize if I sleep with neck pain?
If neck pain is a concern, prioritize pillows with firm, conforming support, ideally memory foam, that keeps your neck aligned. Look for adjustable designs to customize the fit and avoid overly soft or flat pillows that don’t hold your neck in a healthy position. Additional support features like chin straps or contour shaping can also help reduce discomfort.
Conclusion
For travelers seeking the best overall experience, the top-ranked memory foam pillow offers excellent support and portability. Budget-conscious buyers will appreciate the affordable inflatable models that pack small and perform well. Frequent flyers and those with neck pain should consider models with adjustable support and additional features like chin straps or eye masks. Beginners might prefer simpler, plush designs, while seasoned travelers may opt for premium options with extra support and durability. Ultimately, the right pillow depends on your specific needs, travel style, and comfort preferences.
