What does it mean to be Christian?
What does it mean to be Christian? Does our Christianity change us, or are we so embedded in the world that we neglected to come out of its ways. Does our Christianity affect us to the point that our inner man is strengthened to resist the ills of this day? Does our relationship with the Almighty transform us enough that it changes the way we walk, talk, dress, and act? Does it have an effect on the kind of company we keep? Are our thoughts affected and purified by our relationship, or are we just acting as if Jesus Christ is our God? There is a criteria for being a child of God. The LORD spoke to Abraham and said; And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Genesis 17:1
Many a man from foreign lands would come to this country seeking a green card to work in the United States, adhered to this scheme. Just marry an American woman, and divorce her when you are done. They exemplify little respect for our ladies. I'm afraid that American women are considered little more than whores and prostitutes by definition. Even many young men call our young ladies hoes!
One of another religious persuasion told one of our ladies that she would be considered a prostitute in their culture because she did not cover her face. The covering of the face is a cultural diversity that is of little importance, especially when this young lady was completely covered modestly. In one way I would say these men of that culture have a great problem taming their thoughts, as to what they see a woman for. But what do we see of ourselves? Scripture tells us to examine ourselves and see if we are in the faith. 2 Corinthians 13:5 It goes on to say; prove your own selves.
It seems that the order of the day isn't order at all. Women are no longer sought after for their good behavior and prowess in some field, but as just a catch for an animalistic tendency of lust. As I was reading the Bible, I was saddened as to how the LORD spoke about Israel and a once cleaned, whore. He vowed in his dissatisfaction to bring destruction upon his people.
Though this was a spiritual harlotry, it also encompassed immorality. Our beautiful women and men who are the descendents of those who suffered to obtain a free righteous life, and those brave men who fought for freedom gave their lives for us to become like lowered forms of life with no restraint. This is not freedom; it is actually bondage to degradation. We have counted ourselves as little more than the women of the slave trade abused for the pleasure of those who have no real love or respect for them. Only afterward women carry the guilt of an elicit affair. No strings attached free for all throughout their lives.
A nation whose people's hearts are full of lust and lack values can surely stand for nothing of honor, and fall for anything. This was true in the time when Rome fell. They were destroyed from within because of their disrespect for God's moral laws. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psalms 9:17
