A Great Plan: The Plan of Salvation by Jesus Christ

Men inherited and perform in the mist of the sin nature innate from Adam. This is directly caused by his willingness to go against the LORD’s command. We sin because of our inherited nature as descendents from him.

It was for this reason, than mankind needs a blood sacrifice, one of their own. Even in the garden, there was the death of an animal after the original sin was committed. We know this because after Adam and Eve dressed themselves in leaves, the LORD changed their clothing for animal skins. It is obvious that an animal had to die in order to use his skin. Therefore there was a substitutionary death for the sin of Adam and Eve. Even Abraham offered sacrifices to the LORD before the Law was written.

 Genesis 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

He also prophesied that the LORD would provide the sacrifice to reconcile mankind to himself. All men everywhere need a sacrifice in order to live in the presence of God.

 Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. This can be referenced to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. It was not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to remit sin. (Hebrews 10:4) The Old Testament sacrifices were only rehearsals of the job that Jesus Christ would do on Calvary .

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When Jesus died, He died for whosoever will. Will what? This is the question. During the times when men worship idols of wood and stone the LORD did not reach out to the people that sat in darkness. But because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, He has made an exception.

 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness. . Act 17: 30-31

We know that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Or have been excluded from coming into His glorious presence. As we as Gentiles, had to remain outside of the holy place of the temple of the LORD instead of as now, being made worthy to enter into the Holy of Holies or presence of God by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

We, sinful mankind, needed, and still need a savior. There is a need for one to reconcile us to the Almighty and give us a reprieve from death and hell for all eternity. God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself. (2Corinthians 5:19 ) As God said in the book of Isaiah, there is no other Savior but God.

The scriptures say of Jesus: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (Note; Jesus is called the Mighty God, and the Everlasting Father this is God becoming savior.)

 Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself indicating that eloheem is one God. And not three.  Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, (not we are God)

 Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Jehovah or YHVH is salvation)

Jesus Said of Himself:

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; (believers) In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

 John 10:30 I and my Father are one. Because of this saying the Jews wanted to stone him because they said he made himself God. According to Isaiah, he was God already.
 Joh 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. (Jesus spoke of the temple of his body) The scripture also teaches the God raised Him up.
 Joh 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
 Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
 John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Jesus Christ said to Peter;

 Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (What did Peter bind and loose, these are the keys)
 Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem

For in him (that is Jesus Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9 The Apostle John said:

In the beginning was the word and the word was with god, and the word was god, the same was in the beginning with god These three are one (not three in one) but one. God is a Spirit, not persons.

The body of Jesus Christ is not God, but the Spirit of Jesus Christ is God. The scriptures say God is a Spirit and them that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth. Therefore Peter spoke the keys to the kingdom to those who would hear on the day of Pentecost:

 Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

He admonished them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ through out the formation of the New Testament church. The keys to the kingdom of God were keys to salvation and reconciliation to God himself. He followed through on what was commanded to Him by Jesus Christ. That repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name. That is the name of Jesus Christ. This is also the name of the Father (Jesus is the Father) the Son (Jesus is the Son) and the Spirit of God (To wit God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.)

The book of acts is a demonstration, showing how the first church, “ loosed” by Peter, was established. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom by Jesus Christ. Therefore as he preached in Acts 2 he was using the wisdom and authority given to him by Jesus Christ in starting the New Testament church by grace.

When Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 that the Apostles should baptized in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. This was a key to the Kingdom, and Peter did not err in obeying this as he baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. This scripture only asked for one (family) name that would include the Father son and Holy Ghost. Do you have a family name? This is the saving name of our God, Jehovah-salvation, particularly Jesus Christ. He is God with us.

 Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Many try to maintain that Father Son and Holy Ghost are names, but even if they were, this scripture still applies. There is not another name under heaven given for mankind to be saved, other than the name of Jesus Christ. Here are biblical examples that the Church of Jesus Christ . Those added to the church were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the only way to apply the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to our lives. We must do this individually in order to have a blood sacrifice before the Spirit of God. This baptism enjoins us with His death. A spirit cannot die, therefore there was a need for the humanity of Son of God in order to save men from their sins. In Matthew 1:18 the scripture tells us that the Spirit of God, or the Holy Ghost is the Father of Jesus.

 Act 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

 Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
 Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
 Act 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

This scripture indicates that the name of Jesus Christ must be called out in order to wash sins away. Not through titles but in the name. There is no where in scripture where any person was ever baptized calling out Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This trend was started by the Roman Catholic Church, during the time of Constantine in order the make the Christian religion more palatable for the Pagans at that time. In this way, Constantine hoped to stop persecution of Christians, and making their service to a plurality of Gods similar to the pagans’ worship.

The next key to the kingdom comprised of receiving the Holy Ghost. Though some say that it was only for the Apostles, the scriptures say that all those in the upper room on the day of Pentecost received the Holy Ghost. Not some.
 Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

When the disciples of John the Baptist were ministered to, they were also admonished, and did receive the keys to the kingdom in their lives.

 Act 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
 Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
 Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
 Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were (re) baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
 Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Peter further preached to those who had gathered for the celebration of Pentecost, that they which call on the name of the LORD shall be saved. This call is made in baptism. Do all in the name of Jesus, the scripture teaches, yet this is ignored. But scripture teaches that we must be baptized having the name of Christ invoked or called out over us.

If the time that this scripture talks about is the day of the LORD which had not come, and is preceded by darkness of the sun and moon. We haven’t seen this day yet. The scripture said they shall be saved, it did not say that they were saved. Because of the troubles of that day it will be little more that man can do but call.

 Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:  Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Many people mistake this; they that call upon the LORD shall be saved to mean that you can just call and by faith you become a child of God, it just happens, by grace. However this idea is not scripturally sound, or exemplified in the word. Jesus said the Holy Ghost was like a wind that you hear, but do not see. You see the effects of the Holy Ghost as you see the effect of the wind. The people were thought to be drunk, this was the seen effect, and they were heard to speak in tongues. They all began to speak in tongues and magnify God. This is not the gift of tongues, or the gift of prophecy. This along with other gifts of the Spirit become evident in some after they have received the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Ghost making intercession for us because we do not know how to pray as we ought. They all received the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues. Not just the Apostles, but all.

In the law it is written, with other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 1Corinthians 14:21

In Acts 2:4 all of the people that received the Holy Ghost spoke in tongues, we see this trend through the New Testament church. First the Jews, then Samaritans, Roman and other Gentiles, all received the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues. It is for as many and the LORD shall call. Some dare add the words to scripture such as “men of unknown tongues” in order to reconstruct a different meaning of the scripture, but we know we are not to change the word of God.

 Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
 Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
 Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

In short the plan of salvation blood bought by the death of Jesus Christ on calvary is summend up in this scripture: Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
