and dedicated to the Lord (like Samuel). I didn't realize that I was pregnant until a "church mother" took one look at me and got a strange look on her face. Something clicked! The news spread among all the Vacation Bible School workers, who were just as shocked. My son's birth was full of calamity, though. Everything I had just read about what could happen during childbirth ,happened. After a meal of pizza and cola, my water burst and my sister Rosemary realized it and I was rushed to the hospital. When I entered the waiting room there were at least 4 other women before me, but the doctor turned around to me and said, "I'm taking you next." My blood pressure shot up to 158/90! I was given an IV to stabilize it. My dinner was "emptied" into the rubbish bin, insuring that my tummy would not be hindering the birth process. My contraction were not productive and my baby was in distress; when my husband was allowed in the room (he was a very good coach), I had monitors on me, and my child. I know I was upset, but I spoke to the Lord and the situation came to an end. Eventually, I was wheeled into delivery …then my beautiful angel baby was delivered. Later I saw the clouds part, letting the morning sun's light shine through-it was a message from God, my own rainbow…
My son is 18 years old now, but I saw him delivered into my hands many years ago. It was like the parting of the Red Sea. Few envisioned such an unprecedented outcome, but I was strengthened by the faith of a much beloved saint, and my son was restored to me, my "Sunny".
I can truly say that I have been on a pathway where I have learned what it means to live for God. Whatever harsh blows I suffer are
